Tensions between Kiev and Moscow rise after a fatal attack on the east of Ukraine. An investigation by the Ukraine will be launched to the incident. Three deaths have been reported on a manned checkpoint where a raid took place by pro-Russian separatists near the town of Sloviansk. The attack occurred as pro-Russian groups continued with the occupation of government buildings despite agreeing to a deal to leave.
Russia has expressed “outrage” at the occurrence and places the blame on the Right Sector group of Ukranian nationalists , but the party have rejected the claim.
Ukranian deputy secretary of the national security council, Viktoriya Siumar stated to the BBC that it was presently too early to determine who was responsible for the killings. She continued by stating that criminal groups could be behind the incident due to the rise in the level of criminal activity in the east of Ukraine of late. She also expressed concern that Russia has reached it’s conclusions regarding who is responsible for the incident.
