EBay was penalized by Google either via an algorithmic action or manual action or both. EBay and Google won’t confirm it, but it has been made clear from the SearchMetrics charts.
The reason behind the penalty has not been made 100 percent clear. Some theories have cited that eBay stopped AdWords ads, which is why Google is going to get them back this way.
