Jordan Graham killed husband Cody Johnson after having doubts about their eight-day marriage.
She shows no sorrow.
She has been jailed for 30 years for pushing her husband off a cliff.
The judge in Missoula, Montana said to Jordan, she showed no remorse and did not have the human capacity to feel the wrongfulness of what she’d done.
The 22-year-old said they both had driven to Glacier National Park and then walked to the cliff face; this was on the day her husband died.
She then said to him she wasn’t happy and wasn’t sure if they should be married.
Cody, 25 responded to her by grabbing her hand and she thought it was as if he was going to pull her, she claimed.
“I told him to let go and I pushed his hand off,” she said.
Jordan said she just pushed his hand off and just pushed away, with one hand on his arm and the other on his back.
She pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, but later tried to withdraw her plea.
She also claimed that prosecutors were going back on agreement by seeking a life sentence.
US Donald Molloy, District Judge, denied the request. He sentenced Jordan to 30 years in prison, followed by a five years supervised release and no chance for early bail.
Before sentencing, Jordan broke down and said she still loved the husband she killed.
“A day doesn’t go by I don’t think about what happened and why I didn’t make different decisions,” she said.
“It was a moment of complete shock and panic. I have no other explanation,” she added.
She apologised to Cody’s mother and her own family.
The judge specified he had nonstop doubts about her honesty.
Judge Molloy said, “There’s only one person in this room that knows what happened, and I don’t think she’s been entirely truthful about what happened.”
Initially, Graham told investigators her husband left their house with unknown friends and showed police a fictitious email from a ‘friend’ saying he was dead and the search should be called off.
