With a wild night with Google trying to confirm an update targeting spam-related requests, it has been announced that the Panda 4.0 has been released.
This Panda algorithm is new, but not a refresh, which we have seen almost every month. It is enough for Google to name it the 4.0, which defines it as a new algorithm update.
The Panda 4.0 update has been said to impact 7.5% of English queries to a degree that a frequent user may notice.
This update has also been said to appear gentler for some sites, with the groundwork to future changes in the direction of a gentler and softer Panda algorithm.
This surely explains those constant ranking shifts and signs of major changes that have been happening throughout the month. Merely guessing it must have been Google carrying out some tests for the new release.
It was last year that Google stopped confirming Panda updates and began doing the rolling update. Recently, it was softened with monthly refreshes, with some being larger than others.
Over the next few days it is advisable to look through analytics and isolate if we were impacted by any of these algorithms.
