Samsung’s first Tizen-powered smartphone has finally and officially been unveiled. The Samsung Z is the end result of years of development by the Korean company on its own operating system to oppose the BlackBerry 10, Android, iOS and Windows Phone. Finally, it is ready for public consumption.
The phone consists of a 4G LTE device, but for now it is working on foreign bandwidths. It features a 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED display, 2GB of RAM and 2.3GHz quad-core processor.
The rear is adorned by an 8-megapixel camera and the front features a 2.1-megapixel selfie/web camera. The storage on board consists of 16GB as well as a card slot for Micro SD, which allows expanding the memory further up to 64GB. The weight is 136g, with the dimensions of: 138.2×69.8×8.5mm. The battery takes a reasonable charge at 2,600mAh.
Firstly, the Samsung Z will launch in Russia in Q3 and will then be rolled out to other regions. However, it has not yet been known if this will include UK and US.
