A body has been found on a beach, which was very close to where a missing boarding school teacher’s car was found two weeks ago.
The Deputy Head at Durham School, Mark Bushnell, left his home in Durham City on 9th March with some laundry after the family’s washing machine had broken.
Later, his car was discovered in a cliff top park at Blackhall, near Peterlee.
“It has been in the water for some time,” say Durham police; who also added that it appeared the body of a middle-aged man.
The force has said the body was found by a member of public at Blackhall Rocks around 07:00 GMT.
A formal identification has not yet been carried out, but Mr Bushnell’s family have been informed.
The area has been searched by police, mountain rescue teams and coastguards, and ended on Monday.
