It was only a few days ago, the world got scared from Google’s report, which revealed the SEC report about placing ads everywhere.
Amongst the items listed about where to place the ads, thermostats were one, which created the whole scare around their purchase of Nest. Despite all the jokes from the industry about putting ads on Nest, Google have in fact clarified this is something they won’t be doing.
However, it is likely they will place ads in Google class, refrigerators, watches and everywhere else their connected devices can reach.
Google also mentioned in the SEC filing that they expect the ads to go in more mobile devices and the definition of the mobile device will expand.
This is what Google wrote: “We expect the definition of ‘mobile’ to remain to grow as more and more ‘smart’ devices gain their power in the market. E.g.) a few years from now, we and other companies could be serving ads and other content on car dashboards, refrigerators, glasses, thermostats, and watches, to name just a few possibilities.”
